Why the design matters

With ducted air conditioning, the unit is only part of the job. Duct sizes, where the outlets go and how the zones are split decide whether the house heats and cools evenly, how loud it is and what it costs to run.

Pick a unit that's too small and it runs flat out and never quite gets there. Too big and you've paid for capacity you don't use. Poor duct runs mean some rooms get plenty of air and others barely any. We work this out before anything is ordered.
